What is IVF - ROPA?
HOW DOES THE ROPA IVF PROCESS WORK?
The ROPA IVF process is carried out in a slightly different manner than a regular in-vitro fertilization cycle with one's own eggs:
FOR THE DONOR:
- Ovarian Stimulation: Daily administration of hormones for several days to stimulate the ovaries. Multiple clinic visits for monitoring.
- Ovulatory Discharge: Hormone inducing ovulation administered post ovarian stimulation. Painless procedure under sedation.
- Ovarian puncture under sedation: Aspiration of ovarian follicles to obtain eggs.
FOR THE RECIPIENT WOMAN:
- Medical Examination: Diagnosis to rule out other causes of infertility.
- Endometrial Preparation: Administration of estrogen to prepare the endometrium.
- Obtaining sperm sample and in-vitro fertilization process: ICSI technique used for fertilization.
- Embryo Culture and Embryo Selection: Continuous monitoring of the embryos' development.
- Selection and Embryo Transfer: Transfer of the most viable embryos into the recipient mother's uterus.
