Penoplasty

Penoplasty is a surgery that can affect the thickness of the penis and/or its length.

The results are spectacular and permanent.

There are two different procedures that can be performed separately if one wishes to intervene only on the circumference or just on the length.

Both procedures can be performed together for a generalized enlargement of the penis.

Penile lengthening is achieved through 2 technical gestures:

Skin advancement plasty: it is performed by making a V-shaped or half-circle scar hidden in the pubic hair. Unlike Z or VY plasties, this type of scar avoids the very unaesthetic appearance of the pubic region.

Sectioning the suspensory ligament of the penis: the suspensory ligament of the penis anchors the dorsal side of the penis to the pubic bone. When the ligament is cut, the part of the penis buried behind the pubis can advance, and penile lengthening is achieved. It is very important not to disinsert the lateral parts of the ligament to avoid losing the obliquity of the penis in erection.

What does the thickening penoplasty technically consist of?

Penile thickening is achieved through the lipofilling technique. The English word "lipofilling" literally translates to "filling with fat". The goal of this technique is to reinject the patient's fat under the sheath of the penis, to thicken the circumference.

It is thus a true autograft of fat cells by reinjecting the fat harvested from the patient himself. The reliability of this technique has significantly increased since the advent of Dr. S.Coleman's technique, which uses a process of centrifuging the harvested fat before reinjection, and a harvesting technique that is as non-traumatic as possible for the fat. This technique is thus used in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. It is important to know that 30% of the injected fat can be reabsorbed, and therefore a second lipofilling session at 6 months to 1 year is always possible.
