Read moreWhat is Trifocal Lens Implants?
With age, the natural lens loses its flexibility (presbyopia) and then clouds over (cataract). A trifocal implant replaces it with an artificial lens that splits light across three focal points.
Procedure Process
Through a micro-incision, the surgeon removes the natural lens and places the trifocal implant in the eye. Both eyes are usually treated a few days apart. The price shown covers both eyes.
Trifocal or Multifocal?
Compared with a bifocal implant, a trifocal implant mainly improves intermediate vision, useful for computer screens or a car dashboard.
When is Trifocal Lens Implants used?
They suit patients with presbyopia, with or without cataract, who no longer want to depend on glasses, usually from age 45-50. A full eye examination checks that the eye is suitable (no retinal or corneal disease).

Frequently asked questions
How does the treatment work?
Anesthesia
Local anesthesia with eye drops, optionally with light sedation.
Duration
About 15 to 20 minutes per eye.
What happens after treatment?
Eye drops are prescribed for a few weeks. Avoid rubbing your eyes, swimming and eye make-up for about 2 weeks. Flying home is usually possible after the post-operative check, 2 to 3 days after the second eye.
How long do results last?
Vision improves within days and stabilizes over a few weeks as the brain adapts. Halos around lights at night are possible at first and usually lessen with time.
