The incision is located anteriorly, near the groin fold. It then extends into the groove situated between the perineum and the upper part of the inner thigh surface and continues posteriorly to the gluteal fold where it ends. This incision corresponds to the future scar. Liposuction is performed whenever there is fatty infiltration in the region. Excess skin is removed and fixation is performed in depth to the aponeurotic ligament located at the top of the inner thigh surface, in order to properly maintain the correction of sagging, prevent the scar from descending again, and ensure the permanence of normal and harmonious anatomy.
The scar is thus hidden in a natural fold and will therefore be quite discreet. At the end of the procedure, dressing is applied using adhesive elastic bands or a compression garment is put in place.

The procedure typically lasts around 1 hour 30 minutes but varies depending on the extent of improvements needed. The hospital stay duration is on average 1 to 3 days depending on the case.

What happens after treatment?
Post-operative effects are essentially marked by the appearance of edema (swelling) and ecchymoses (bruising), the extent and duration of which vary from one individual to another. These will regress within 10 to 20 days following the procedure. Pain is generally limited to sensations of pulling and throbbing. The healing period may prove somewhat uncomfortable due to the tension exerted on the edges of the suture: during this period, any sudden stretching movement should be avoided. A work stoppage of 1 to 3 weeks should be planned, depending on the nature of professional activity. Sports activities can be gradually resumed at best from the sixth week post-operatively. The scar is often pink during the first 3 months, then it generally fades after the third month, and progressively so over 1 to 3 years. It should not be exposed to the sun before 3 months.
How long do results last?
You will be able to appreciate the results of thigh lift surgery within 6 to 12 months after the procedure. In most cases, there is good correction of fatty infiltration and skin laxity, which significantly improves the thigh's shape and allows for firmer thighs. Scars are usually discreet, especially since they are hidden in a natural fold. Thus, thanks to improved techniques and acquired experience, the results of this procedure, which had a poor reputation for a long time, have significantly improved today. Nevertheless, it is a delicate surgery for which the greatest rigor does not in any way protect against a certain number of imperfections or even complications.
