What is Buttock Augmentation with Implants?

Buttock augmentation with implants is a surgical procedure aimed at increasing the size and shape of the buttocks using silicone implants.

Buttock implants add roundness to flat buttocks and sculpt the curve beneath the hips. The buttock implant placement technique yields a very natural result.

Definition and Goals

Buttock surgery is performed under general anesthesia with one to two nights of hospitalization and takes about an hour.

The implants are filled with cohesive silicone gel, making them very durable. The surgeon selects the size and shape of the prosthesis, taking into account the patient's original buttock appearance. There are implants of all shapes, round, oval, biconvex, or oblong, and all sizes with an average volume ranging from 250 to 350 cubic centimeters.

The surgeon makes an incision of about six centimeters vertically in the buttock crease. The scar is completely invisible. The implants are then inserted into a pocket created by detaching the gluteus maximus muscle in the upper half of the buttocks. Then, the surgeon sutures the deep layers and the skin with absorbable threads. Finally, a shaping dressing is applied with elastic bands.
