About
6 Implants and 12 Teeth per Jaw
All on 6 on the upper jaw
The ALL ON 6 procedure is a complete rehabilitation procedure that uses more implants per jaw and can support a complete bridge of ceramic-metal and Zirconia dental crowns. As the name suggests, 6 or 8 implants are placed in the jawbone, with implants typically placed every 2 crowns. Crowns can be placed in a transvissed or cemented mode depending on the implant brands.
This solution is a procedure that allows patients to regain their jaw, almost as it was before. The chewing sensation is almost back, and strength is very important due to the load distribution every 2 crowns.
12 crowns are ideally placed, and 14 crowns are placed for the ALL ON 8 solution.
To place these implants, good bone quality is necessary, and if there is not enough bone, bone grafting and often sinus floor elevation (sinus lift) may be necessary before implantation.
Therefore, this procedure is preferred for the following reasons:
- Patients desiring complete and nearly perfect rehabilitation.
- Patients who do not want appliances and want to regain perfect crowns.
- To avoid bone loss by fixing the implants and if necessary performing sinus lifts and/or bone grafting.
- 100% fixed solution.
- Patients regain their jaw.
- Patients wanting Zirconia or Emax teeth. Zirconia and Emax crowns can be placed on implants and complete the ALL ON 6 or 8 solution.
Advantages of All-on-6
- Complete jaw restoration in a single procedure.
- Zirconia or ceramic-metal crowns.
- Improved facial aesthetics.
Disadvantages of All-on-6
- Adequate bone is required.
- Crowns are connected in a bridge.
How Long Does All on 6 Take?
2 trips will be required to complete the treatment due to the waiting time for osseointegration. If bone grafting is necessary, it is likely that 3 trips will be required.
- The trip for implantation and/or bone grafting is 3 working days. Generally, a few months are needed after bone grafting before placing the implants.*
- The second trip is 7 working days.*
*The exact timing of each trip and the wait between them should be discussed with the oral surgeon.
** Zirconia crowns can also be placed.
Implant Brands in All-on-6
